Returning to civilian life after a hitch in the U.S. Navy, the author acquired a small sailboat and undertook the voyage described in "Final Exam". Then came years engaged in transmission of televised news events on the first leg of their long journey to your home screen. Again afloat, the author spent almost a quarter century acquiring memories as a marina dockmaster in Florida and is now retired.
