Stewart Ronen grew up in Johannesburg and Israel. He studied literature and foreign languages at The University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. After graduating, he emigrated to The Netherlands where he lived for 18 years. He now resides in Cape Town. The Goat Herder is his first novel. His second novel, Under Philadelphi Road, is nearing completion.
