Jeff Tranter has been using and collecting Heathkit amateur radio, shortwave, and test equipment since his teens. He bought his first computer, an Ohio Scientific Superboard II, in 1981. He has been a licensed amateur radio operator, call sign VE3ICH, since 1976. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and has worked as a test engineer, software developer and consultant, and manager. He lives in Ottawa, Canada.
