The Old Catholic Church is one of the oldest Christian denomination. It dates to the 700s in the Netherlands. It recognizes the bishop of Rome as the patriarch of the western church, but not an infallible monarch. The structure and liturgy of the Old Catholic Church takes its lead from individual bishops, much like the original western church. In some areas, the liturgy is ancient. Elsewhere it can be one of the modern iterations. The Old Catholic Church teaches inclusion, with no individual is denied access because of some accident of birth. That means you can find women at all levels, from a lay member to archbishop. It means that gay people are welcomed to all the sacraments, including matrimony and holy orders. The church tries to express a modern expression of the ancient church. It tries to be helpful, regardless of your personal spiritual path.
