(This review was submitted by Ivan Argüelles, a writer from Berkely CA) "Just finished reading Arthur Dies, Chronicle One, v. 1, which I read in one fell swoop so mesmerizing did I find it. Indeed I consider this a linguistic and lyrical tour de force of the first order. Utterly fascinating in its linguistic strata: ranging from what feels like Beowulf and Anglo-Saxon alliteration, through the dense medieval style of Malory and then the luscious Elizabethan dramatic monologues into Blake and even Finnegans Wake, or so it felt to me. I daresay there is nothing like it today. It feels like it was written not Now but in some arcane hour of time Immemorial ... Full of neologisms and what could be called scribal errors the persistent and obsessive repetitions of phrase and sound the constant rhythms make this as unique a piece of poetry as I have come across in years. In addition it is totally and relentlessly musical. I am nothing if not Stimulated by reading this magical and... More > maddening oeuvre. John M Bennett is to be congratulated as well for publishing this 'swarming' text." - Ivan Argüelles< Less
