England is Adam’s homeland; Canada is Amanda’s. During World War Two they met and fell in love. However, after a mere sixty-eight days on the same military station, they were parted. Over the years, Amanda raised a Canadian family. Yet, every once in a while her thoughts fly off to some mystical place where she can savor Adam’s presence. And always, after such daydreaming, she wonders why things couldn’t have been different for them. Adam raised a family in England. There, quite unknown to Amanda, he carefully safeguards every reminder of his shy Canadian sweetheart: letters, pictures, and diary notations. Though frequently burdened by his perception of their parting, he never gives up his dream of seeing her again. Finally, more than sixty years after first meeting in the back of a Royal Canadian Air Force truck, Amanda compiles their love story.
