IRRI: THE ETHNOGRAPHY OF THE LARGEST CLAN IN ISOKO LAND The book takes the reader to the ancestral roots of Irri from the ancient kingdom of Benin through the long journey of Omo-Ode and his brothers to the founding of a kingdom that is rich in culture, unity and wisdom. It starts with a trip from Benin by four brothers- Uzei, Omo-Ode, Emore and Odi who left Benin in search of land that was free and fertile. They went through Isele Uku and Aboh before settling down briefly at Uzere. It features the structure of Irri kingdom and its founding quarters, its federating towns, its chieftaincy institutions, its philosophy of life and the long tasking customs. The book is both ethnographic in reference and record of its culture.
