Logistics is a recent addition in the jargon of integrated business management, formerly with the traditional fields of marketing, finance, production and personnel, although it has been an integral part of those sectors since the Industrial Revolution. Logistics is the process of planning, implementing and controlling of efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer expectations.
