Technology, and the world of objects that facilitate human tasks, are prostheses for the parts of human anatomy we perceive as insufficient, lacking, or inadequate. Technology is the manifestation of our prowess with materials; however, even as it facilitates tasks for us, it is implicated in producing a range of complications--from environmental degradation to illness as a result of a sedentary lifestyle. It seems that the farther we push technology to facilitate things we normally do with our bodies, the more we will be reminded of the condition of having a body in the first place.
