Sierra and Star

Sierra and Star is a beautifully illustrated book by Marian Gorin and written by Cherise Arthur. This is the first book in a series of six about a young girl named Sierra and her red pony Star. Sierra loves ponies more than anything in the world. Her parents give her dolls to play with. Sierra does like dolls. She loves ponies. On Sierra's 8th birthday, she is surprised by her parents to find a pretty red pony on her lawn with balloons on her halter and a garland of flowers on her head. As Sierra walks closer to her pony she notices a pretty milky white star on her forehead. Sierra names her Star and their adventures begin.
