The Bandit Zimara

This work of fiction explores religious violence and the responses of the people who fight back. Across the globe, religious gangsters abuse and murder women and enslave their children in the name of God. After Blago’s holy warriors attack but fail to kill a farmer’s wife, Zimara decides to fight back, forging a disparate crew of battered and distrustful refugee women into a lethal force aimed at the heart of the terrorist empire. Their goal: free their kids, kill jihadists, and restore justice to their wartorn land. Their struggle takes them from mountain villages to a refugee camp, an underground prison, a general’s palace and an ancient fortress monastery. Along the way they find allies among plucky children, repentant crusaders, sly smugglers, Muslim outlaws, a rogue priest, a nosy cop, and a shady antiquities dealer. As casualties mount, each woman must reckon her freedom against the cost of her defiance.
