Soul

"Soul" is a book of poems telling the story of rising above a history of painful pasts, and adapting. Soul confronts the very trauma responsible for taking the spirits of generations of people from all backgrounds such as poverty, abuse, toxic masculinity, racism, sexism and more. This book celebrates our triumphs, calls to attention our oppression, and shines light on our growth. Each chapter in “Soul” hits hard to swallow realities of our world. Realities as we’ve seen in current events are finally being acknowledged and in the process of being changed. Every topic discussed I’ve learned and experienced. Statistically so have others my age and younger. People my age are watching the world change before our eyes and we’re the cause of it. It’s young people on the front lines at these protests every day, it’s young people who are advocating for environmental protection, young people are directing the revolution. This book is for them by them.
