It’s strange. Humankind has probably never been as developed as we are now, yet there remains much heartache and confusion. Why when there is so much opportunity, so much comfort, do we struggle to get on with each other; struggling to adequately represent?
Morgan Daniel is Director of International Health for a small charity, and a physician at a private UK clinic. In both rich and poor settings he has witnessed the complications and perplexities of the human condition.
In this short book, Dr Daniel proposes we, the people of society, need to regain our own individual decision-making; we need to think for ourselves. This, he argues, leads naturally to a civilised society, due to the unavoidable reconnection with the same co-operative sense our choices developed from. It is the power of people working to provide the basics for each other that led to the space above survival. To regain our ability to think independently, might it be such conscious focus is once again required?
