Emma Dalton: The Anthology | Volume 1

This anthology is a collection of fictional stories and autobiographic poetry. Two of the pieces are about facing and overcoming inner demons, particularly those from the past that haunt the character in the present. The first piece is full of angst and regret, a reflection on stupid decisions we make in the heat of the moment. The following work is a sequel of sorts to the first, a present-tense moment of clarity where the character, with the help of a friend, is able to gain some closure on past hurt. The two subsequent poems are narrative and lyric respectively and are written as reevaluations of personal experiences. In contrast to these more emotion-heavy works, the final piece is lighthearted and fun, an exploration of group dynamics in a highly interactive setting.
