Interpreting The Bible

Many of the misunderstandings that people have with the Bible are due to their system of interpretation. This course teaches the historical/grammatical system of interpretation. We emphasize that many of the verses of the Bible are clear in themselves and need no interpretation. However, wherever there are questions, we must be willing to examine our system of interpretation to be sure we are consistent with all of the Bible and true to its own interpretation. We emphasize the literal interpretation except where it is obvious that the Bible is using figures of speech.
