Written in the author's later years (92), this book of haiku poems reflects the perspective of life in the fourth, last quartile, 75 to 100 years. His pencil and ballpoint drawings accompany the poems. Although using the seventeen-syllable rule of classical Japanese haiku as well as themes of nature and the seasons, his poems present a more- contemporary view of individual life in the current world. He shows that reflections of a life nearing closure can be cheerful and optimistic despite the symptoms of old age.
