Mental Illness doesn't always have to be a preexisting condition from birth, or a disease obtained through genetics. It can be self-induced and or influenced by environmental circumstances throughout the duration of a person's life span, This novel is a heart touching and simply intriguing story of the life of Mae, a woman adopted at two months old by relatives. It tells of her struggles and how she endured from knowing that her biological mother was molested and become pregnant with her at twelve years old. Mae's biological Mother went on to have more children, but it left her daughter complacent; with feeling of rejection, and insecurities.
