Jakub Dolejs 2007

Jakub Dolejš was born in Prague, Czech Republic where he earned his mfa from the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design. Dolejš’s work has been shown in Canada, UK, USA, France and the Czech Republic. His photographs were recently exhibited alongside the work of Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, Yasumasa Morimura, Eve Sussman and others in a major international survey of staged photography titled Acting the Part: Photography as Theatre at the National Gallery of Canada. Dolejš received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council. His work is represented in collections across Canada and in the USA, including the National Gallery of Canada.
