ABIDE in JESUS

John 14-15’s “abide in Jesus the Vine” picture shows far more insight into our special life in Him than believers today normally see in John’s Gospel and 1John. God commands and calls His children to abide in Jesus, to stay or live in a love-life and obedient close fellowship with God as Jesus lived on earth. Not seeing what John and 1John truly say has weakened our personal and corporate life and growth in God. John’s Gospel and 1-2John reveal this picture so clearly that staying unseen seems impossible. A key way it has stayed hidden before our eyes since before the Reformation is a meaning ADDED to ina’s classic purpose-clause-marker that seems to explain about 25 or 30 of John’s 213 ina’s in some of his most informative verses. This “solution” shows enough true content to help hide John 15’s “abide in Vine-Jesus” as a major missed theme in John’s Gospel, and as the major theme in 1John that reveals 1John as a coherent unit with a simple, smooth, orderly flow of content throughout – every translation I have seen misses this. But the EVIDENCE God put in John’s Gospel and 1-2John lets us examine, test, and KNOW CLEARLY THE TRUTHS HE PUT there. I write “Abide in Jesus” for seekers of God’s life-giving truths to examine and test what John’s Scriptures truly tell us. I hope its readers include many translators who will examine, test, and know the truth, but until then many believers in Jesus need to learn and walk in His life-giving truth. To help each reader see what is good for him/her, I divide “Abide” into 2 parts and also make Part 1 a self-contained book “Stay in My Love” (then I add an Afterword about Abide’s Part 2). Part 1 shows normally missed content in 25 crucial ina’s in John’s Gospel and 1-2John, which give so much evidence in their contexts that we can know how John truly used ina: the RESTORED meaning ADDS much VITAL CONTENT FOR US brought out in this missed picture and its features. I write Part 2 for those who want to further examine and test my or anyone’s claim for the way(s) John used ina. Part 2 includes all 213 ina’s by John and their massive evidence that his ina consistently connects a SOURCE to its PROJECTED OUTCOME (or 5 times a start toward an extreme amount). I know what I just wrote seems too absurd to a Greek scholar to look further, but this illustrates how John’s true use of ina has stayed hidden for so long before the eyes of truth-seeking believers who know much good Greek without considering this point.
