Our Song

Riffe’s work explores texture and perspective; he is careful to present the scene, such that one feels as though they are coming upon it and living amongst the Oaxaqueños. At times, he enhances the view by shifting the horizon, bringing the foreground into the picture plane, as if we are physically standing in the space, be it peering out a window or looking between the cooking pots at market. He intentionally opens this world and we are allowed to experience it.
