Beyond Freedom Fries is the charming story of a spirited French student who traveled 20,000 miles around the USA, lived with 60 American families and, through his DSL (Discover-share-Learn) program, enjoyed good times and enlightening experiences with hundreds of Americans. He made the entire trip without spending a dime from his own pocket. In these pages, he'll show you how to do the same. He shares his stories of intercultural and intergenerational relationships and adventures with the hundreds of people he met and, mainly, with the 60 American families who welcomed him into their homes in more than 35 different states. Through the spirit of his trip, summed up in the statement "understanding differences, building friendships and living with inspiration", Jean-Philippe Devillers was able to encounter American culture from a variety of angles.
