Annie Takes on Adding!

Often children find it scary or challenging to learn math. However, there are ways to make math concepts seem less daunting and more like fun! This book aims to help students find the joy in math and to reach students that may need that extra boost! It also applies children’s reading techniques to help them grasp these concepts better. This text is centered around the NYS Next Generation Math Standard 1.6a, which calls for first graders to add and subtract within 20. For this book, we are only focusing on adding. Even though it is based on a first grade standard, it is not limited to first graders only! Methods and strategies are presented within this book that aim to support student learning.
