It was the day before Sean was about to leave. I stood in the kitchen. I had begun to prepare a salad. I was depressed about him leaving in the morning. Suddenly Topaz hissed as a gust of wind shut the door. Bam! The vase full of flowers sitting on the counter fell crashing into a million pieces on the floor. I jumped, startled by the explosion of glass, water, and flowers. I ran over to check Topaz. “Are you alright Paz?” I asked checking him for cuts. He was unharmed but scared. I felt tears well up in my eyes. “I'm sorry...” I said, wiping away the tears. “I didn't want to cry. I promised myself I wouldn't. It's just that I don't want you to leave. I know you want to go to the auditions, but we were so close this last week.
