The Sabre-tooth Chronicles

On a camping trip with his father, thirteen year old Cody discovers an ancient talisman made from the tooth of a sabre-toothed cat. He wakes up to find himself trapped in prehistory near the end of the last ice-age among mammoths, giant bears and the Clovis people.
