The story is uplifting for disadvantaged children who witness that others may have more. It also offers hope for children who have been neglected or abused. Also, I would like to emphasize that the stepsister’s attempt to ignore her mother’s neglect of the stepbrother reflects how many in our society choose to ignore poverty, starvation and tragedy.
