A Sketchy Life

This book contains over fifty pencil and ink sketches done by Michael James Jaquish. Some were created for specific reasons (such as a line of greeting cards or to illustrate a children’s book) but most were done simply to satisfy a powerful addiction to doodling. A number of them were created by candle light in the jungles of West Africa or equally exotic spots around the globe. The point of this book is; you don’t have to be a “brilliant artist” to have fun sketching! Drawing comes more naturally for some than others but no one should ever be afraid of expressing themselves with a pen or pencil when the mood strikes. Drawing is a great release for tension and stress because it allows us to express the creative side of our nature that is so often suppressed in today’s society. And there is always the remote but very real possibility that just maybe, one day, if you practice enough, you really might become a wonderful artist!
