DH Canada (Canadair) carried on the tradition of its parent de Havilland at Hatfield in the UK when the latter was absorbed into Hawker Siddeley Aviation during the rationalization period of the aircraft industry in the UK. Canadair only indigenous design was the Chanuck all-weather fghter probably the best aircraft in its class at the time that served the RCAF NATO detachments in Europe well.
