Right in the middle of dealing with a vital contract for the National Heritage Museum, Pyne is summoned to the Castle Ward, itself a venerable repository of history and tradition. Ostensibly, the purpose is nothing more sinister than to give him an infection, quite probably not even very serious. It soon becomes apparent that public service may not be as simple as it sounds.
