Bernard is a boy... a boy who is willing to be a man and fight in the world war of 1914, as he believes it his his duty as the man of the house to protect his family after his fater and teenage brother have already gone to fight. He is put into the reserve trench, but he is determined to reach front line and have his chance to go over the top. But with his father and brother fighting beside him, can he face the fact that his beloved father and brother may lose their lives, or he may loose his life due to his selfishness... Can he cope, or will he not only lose life but his mind too...?
