Sam lives on a plantation in Virginia. Sam disagrees with slavery, but his father and brother support slavery. The brother, Tim wants to join the Confederate army so bad, but he is too young to join. The father meets with General Smith, and General Smith agrees to take Sam in to his Regiment. Sam tries to talk father out of making him go but father will not change his mind. Take the journey with Sam during the Civil War time.
