Stephen Jay Walsh makes music with words, making seemingly everyday situations extraordinary. 'Perpetual Heartbreak' plays with language and explores the nature of poetry itself, as well as life, while imbued with a playful sense of humour throughout.
Comparisons with Ashbery, Simic, Muldoon and Armitage are obvious ... and deserved.
