2009 TSD Report

The East Side House Farm (ESHF) is an attempt to more efficiently construct and deliver alley flats to the public, while also providing amenities for the community in which it is located— through green jobs, through education, and through the production of affordable housing. The ESHF seeks to promote the AFI goals of affordability, sustainability and social equity through both the products it creates and the process through which it creates them. This report chronicles the work of a graduate seminar at the University of Texas, which developed both a vision and an action plan for the ESHF to thoughtfully root itself within the community, while also making affordable, high quality housing more accessible to the residents of Central Texas.
