21: A Perfect Monster Storm

Monsters are everywhere. One of the biggest is our own inborn neurology, that forces us to believe things that can't possibly be true, and to settle for language that is unclear and ambiguous at the best of times, and frankly delusional the other 99 percent. Then there's the monster fact that our philosophical 'understandings' of our situation consist of belief taken for fact, on which is built rationalization on rationalization, assumption on assumption and, yes, honesty forces me to say it, delusion on delusion, mistake on mistake. Add in the setting, which is that of a self-contained 'cognitive' system that BELIEVES it has objective knowledge of its world, when in fact, provably, it does not. And they stand around and MUTTER, these monsters, and every now and then they whip up a storm. But this is not THAT storm, but something a LITTLE stronger and more persistent ... if you will allow it. And, truth be told, you probably WON'T ...
