For the past 20 years since the Internet has become a fixture on the American landscape companies have started-up web-sites to help them sell their wares.Some companies that have sprung up since the Internet boom of the 1990's have been started mainly to help their customers sell their own homemade wares. Two such companies are eBay and more recently ETSY which have allowed countless numbers of clothing and craft makers and sellers and even some who are looking to sell used items, sell their merchandise for a profit and either grow or start their businesses from the comfort of their own homes.
