Anne the Healer

Tim Hardy is a petty criminal doing community service in a Chicago inner-city free clinic. His supervisor recruits him to deal with a visitor with a reputation as a faith healer. Anne Bunsen is not what he expected; she feels cursed by her gift of healing crippling and fatal diseases, which compels her to drift from city to city helping the helpless. Tim assumes she's a grifter like him, and studies her to learn her tricks. Inevitably, he finds his life becoming entwined with hers. When she’s rescued from freezing to death in an abandoned house, he joins her on the road as her companion and protector, employing his dubious skills to keep them fed and sheltered. When Anne turns her healing powers on Tim, neither is prepared for a frightening surprise.
