There once was a 14-year-old girl named Claire who lived an ordinary life in medieval times. She had an older brother named Leo and a younger sister named Ivy. There was nothing exciting about Claire’s life until she met a merchant named Bartholomew who agreed to let her work for him in order to pay off a pair of special boots she liked from his shop. Sneaking out to work for Bartholomew, however, starts to take a toll on her life and her relationships with her family members. Not to mention the war starting that splits her family apart even more. Will Claire manage to keep her family together? But most importantly, will they manage to survive?
