Raymond Wacks, Emeritus Professor of Law and Legal Theory, was born in South Africa and spent his first 24 years there. He was educated at the University of the Witwatersrand, the London School of Economics, and Oxford University. An Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa, he is a former Professor of Public Law at the University of Natal, Durban, and former Head of the Department of Law at the University of Hong Kong, and Editor of the Hong Kong Law Journal. He presented the television programme 'The Week in Politics'. Professor Wacks has published more than twenty books and numerous articles on legal philosophy, privacy, and many other aspects of the law and morality.
