Clara Lieu
Clara Lieu is the Director of the Jewett Art Gallery and a Visiting Lecturer in the Wellesley College Art Department. She is also a Critic in the Division of Foundation Studies and the Printmaking Department at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her studio practice explores themes of social isolation and mental illness with an interdisciplinary approach which includes drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. Her work has been exhibited at the International Print Center New York, the RISD Museum of Art, the Mills Gallery at the Boston Center for the Arts , the Currier Museum of Art, the Chazan Gallery, the Danforth Museum of Art, Bromfield Gallery, and the Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial. She earned her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Illustration and her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in Sculpture.
