I live in Italy and it's more than 10 years i'm researching about Horimono. Tattoos fascinated me since i was a child, there isn’t a specifical reason, but it is a strong attraction and maybe is not a case if the first real tattoo i saw, and the one i tried to reproduce with poor results on my arms with markers was a dragon. Tattoos entered in my life since that, initially with temporary tattoos until the day i could make a real one. I’ve ever had the passion for drawing and, thanks to the first book i bought about tattoo in 1997, i drew all the things i could see. With the tattoo i was always fascinated by Japan, considering that in the years i was a child we played a lot with videogames, where i used to choose oriental characters, and on TV i saw a lot of anime from Japan. From a simple attraction i developed a real love to that far nation and to the aspects of its culture, specially the ancient ones which, with the love i felt about tattoos brings to develope a true interest to Horimono, the japanese traditiona tattoo, in all of its forms. So i begin to study its history, the history of Japan and drawing the characters i could see in Horimono.
