In addition to his books, David Manning’s fiction and non-fiction work has appeared in dozens of literary magazines and newspapers. His radio play "Self Image" was produced for NPR by the Radio Repertory Company, and he has given numerous readings of his work in New York. He and his wife—dancer Suzanne White Manning—co-directed the Synergic Theater from 1974 to 1994, applying a unique approach to movement, image and sound media in their original productions and creative process workshops. www.synergictheater.org The above and other creative endeavors have been supported by work for The Record, WDBS/FM, LRN, the NC Bicentennial Folklife Festival, the American Dance Festival, Asian Traditions/Balasaraswati School, Wave Hill, and the CUNY Graduate Center (among others). He grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, and has lived in Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Durham, NC; San Francisco, CA; Barcelona, Spain; New York, NY; and now lives in Durham. He is a graduate of Duke University.
