Mara Jevera Fulmer is an artist, writer, and educator with an interest in bridging cultures and communities through experiential design and opportunities. She has taught and coordinated the graphic design program at C.S. Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan since 1997. Prior to that she worked as Art Director for the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji for six years. Her early experience includes Art Director/Graphic Artist for SUNY-Albany and in magazine publishing before that. Mrs. Fulmer holds an MFA in Studio Art/Graphic Design from Michigan State University, an MA in Advertising Design from Syracuse University, and a BA in Fine Art Photography & Journalism from SUNY-Albany. She currently is pursuing her Doctoral studies in Community College Leadership through Ferris State University, anticipating completion by 2014. She lives with her artist husband, Keith Fulmer, in Grand Blanc, Michigan and has two grown daughters who also pursue careers in art-related fields.
