Susan Simpson Geroe is the daughter of Holocaust survivors whose extraordinary resilience shaped her life and worldview. Born in a bilingual region of Romania and raised in a family defined by courage, determination, and the pursuit of freedom, she grew up with a profound appreciation for history and education. She enjoys music, reading, romantic walks, cooking, knitting and crocheting, Susan lives in Southern California and following a long career as a foreign language teacher and translator, she now dedicates her retirement to writing. While she also enjoys creative writing, the themes that are most common in her work show her deep interest and devotion to family - past and present. She is the author of poetry, short stories, the novel "The Silence of Parents", where she explores the legacy of Second Generation, and biographical works that seek to preserve family memories and give voice to stories that must never be forgotten. Her latest book, "A Legacy of Love and Strength: The Story of Miriam and Ari", honors her parents’ remarkable journey—from surviving the Holocaust to rebuilding a new life in America. She writes with the hope that future generations will learn, remember, and be inspired.
