Jim Elik lived in Alaska and worked on the construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline. He also carves duck decoys from wood and has won numerous awards on national and international levels. His first book, Only in Alaska:memoirs of a pipeline family, chronicles his experiences living and working in the North Country. Since then he has written several adventure fiction books.
