Lena Tauchner
Lena sits down at the table across from me. She smiles as we shake hands, her collar clearly visible. After the usual small talk, I ask, "Well Lena, tell me - who are you?" We’re at a quiet café on the edge of town, calm enough for me to set a recorder between us. "I- uhm. Well, I’m a programmer, actually. I- hm." Lena fidgets with her hands, barely meeting my eyes. "I like to take photos too, I guess? I don’t know, I’m not that interesting." "What do you do in your free time - besides writing?" "Uhhhh…" She flushes, looking down at the table. The waiter arrives with our coffee, and only after he walks away does she answer. "Nothing of... particular interest. I guess I just spend most of my time writing and programming." She chuckles. "And cuddling sharks." I raise an eyebrow, amused. "Sharks?" "Well, I do have like… uhm. Twelve Blåhaj?" She nods, counting them off on her fingers. "Jules, Kathy, Babi, Bella—" I interrupt with a laugh. "I get the idea. Last question for today: why do you write?" She scratches her nose, thinking. "Well. I don’t know? I just thought I would. I started with a fanfiction, and then it just… continued. I guess a little bit of it was reading I’ll Give You - it kind of... made me want to tell a story myself." "Is that a book?" I ask. "A… series. On AO3." She shakes her head. "I guess it’s not important." I nod. "Well, thank you. I think that’ll be enough for the profile. I’ll send it to you next week." I glance at the waiter. "Check, please."
