Tony Layton is a prize winning playwright with over thirty titles to his name. In 1995 he won the BBC TELEVISION prize in a writing for television competition with "S LOVES B". He has also been awarded prizes for some of his one act plays many of which are very popular on the drama festival scene. Tony has been a teacher, a merchant seaman, a newspaper reporter,a clerk and since leaving teaching has concentrated on writing for theatre. He has founded Swansea Youth theatre and Merlin Youth Theatre in Carmarthen.
