Watching birds at my backyard feeder during a bitter Minnesota winter, I admired their grace under extreme conditions. I began sketching them at my window. These were not the flamboyant exotic birds that reside in other parts of the world. I wanted to honor them. I would show them in such a way that they would appear to have been hatched from Faberge eggs. And so began the series of Backyard Birds, Owls, Beach Birds, Southwest Birds, Hawks. Enjoy a new group of feathered friends each year!
