Terry A. O’Neal is an American poet, writer, and educator whose work explores memory, ancestry, love, and the enduring spirit of the Black experience. Born in French Camp and raised in Stockton, California, she draws deep inspiration from her Southern roots in Chloe, Louisiana, where generations of her family lived in the historic LeBleu Settlement. Influenced by the voices of the Harlem Renaissance, O’Neal’s writing reflects both personal reflection and cultural history. She is the founder of the Chloe African American Cemetery Preservation Association and continues to write with a reverence for the past and a commitment to preserving stories that might otherwise be forgotten.
