John Rigo

John J. Rigo of McKinney, Texas started writing poetry in 1985. In 2001 he won First Place in the Adult Division of the Collin County Annual Poetry Contest. In 2004, Mr. Rigo was invited to attend as an honored guest poet representing the United States in Macedonia. John's poetry work is displayed in their annual poetry publication for that year. In 2005 and 2006, Mr. Rigo, had two spiritually-centered poetry books published. A third published book is forthcoming. In a recent book publication showcasing two hundred upcoming recognized poets internationally, Mr. Rigo's name, as well as a selection of his work was showcased. All profits from his published poetry work go to serve the "Homeless Cause" in the State of Texas. An example of that work can be found in the major remodeling of the New Samaritan Inn of McKinney, Texas; an homeless shelter housing 150 individuals. Through his efforts this shelter is reputed to being one of the most beautiful homeless shelters in Texas.
