I was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and studied English in school. I made a booksellers apprenticeship in a foreign language book store where I read all the books in the English language section. English came natural to me. I then studied at the Academy for Fine Arts in Stuttgart, and later at the School for Film and Television in Munich. After graduation I worked as a film editor for the Bavarian Film and Television Company. I moved with my first husband, an American musician, to Eugene, Oregon, USA, and have lived here ever since. I am now married to my second husband. I was always a voracious reader and have been writing since I was a child, mostly fairy tales and fables. Film school taught me plot structure and character development. Living in the US, I started writing in English, again it came natural to me. I have written many novels, stories and poetry collections, in both English and German. My themes are natural sciences, history, linguistics, and above all mythology and early music. I play renaissance and baroque music on the recorder.
