I am a writer of faith, and my words are born in the quiet places — the night-season prayers, the long waits, the moments when the heart forgets to be careful. My devotional poetry reads like overheard prayer: tender, unguarded, and rooted in the promises of Scripture. My collection The Door of Grace: Sacred Verses of Mercy, Wonder, and Praise gathers five poems of lament, awe, and worship — each one set beside the words of the King James Bible that hold it up. From the cry of “Lord, have mercy,” to a wondering gaze at the mountains, to the joy of a door swung open at last, these are verses for anyone who has ever knocked in the dark and wondered if Heaven was listening. I also write for younger hearts as the author of the children’s book Heroes of the Bible: Big Stories for Little Hearts. I am active in my local church community, where I give my time to teaching, creative ministry, and the people I love. I believe that no honest prayer is ever wasted, and that every closed door, in its appointed time, was only ever waiting to open.
